2025 A Day of Community, Connection, and Competition: 2025 Greater Kansas City PCC Golf Classic
Each year, industry professionals from across the region gather for one of the most anticipated networking traditions in the mailing and shipping community: the Annual Greater Kansas City Postal Customer Council (GKCPCC) Golf Classic. This year’s event, proudly sponsored by the United States Postal Service, was one of the most engaging and well‑attended this year — blending friendly competition, professional connection, and a shared commitment to strengthening our industry.
The GKCPCC Golf Classic has long been more than just a day on the course. It’s a chance for postal customers, partners, and industry leaders to step away from the office, build relationships, and enjoy a relaxed environment where collaboration comes naturally. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or simply enjoy the camaraderie of the event, the day offers something for everyone.
Our members joined on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Fred Arbanas Golf Course located at11100 View High Dr, Kansas City, MO 64134. The day begins with a 7:30 AM check‑in, where players can fuel up with a grab‑and‑go breakfast burrito before heading out for the 8:30 AM shotgun start. The course at Fred Arbanas — known for its scenic fairways and welcoming layout — provides the perfect backdrop for a morning of competition and conversation.
After the final putt drops, golfers will gather for a post‑round lunch, awards, and the always‑popular raffle prize drawing, featuring a wide variety of exciting giveaways donated by generous industry partners. This event is designed to be accessible and enjoyable for golfers of all skill levels, making it an ideal outing for individuals, teams, or companies looking to treat employees or clients to a memorable day. These activities offer extra chances to win prizes and bragging rights while keeping the energy high from hole to hole. The GKCPCC Golf Classic continues to thrive because of the dedication and enthusiasm of its participants. Each year, your involvement strengthens our professional community and reinforces the collaborative spirit that drives the mailing and shipping industry forward.
We extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who supports this event — through participation, sponsorship, donations, or volunteer efforts. Your commitment makes this tradition possible.

2025 165th Pony Express Annual Re‑Ride and New Horses Stamp First Day of Issue by Jennifer Nelson.
The GKCPCC partnered with the Central Missouri PCC on June 21, 2025, to witness a remarkable moment in postal history at the Patee House Museum in St. Joseph, Missouri: the 165th Pony Express Annual Re‑Ride.
This year’s Re‑Ride followed the original Pony Express route in reverse, beginning in Sacramento, California, and ending in St. Joseph, Missouri. Letters were loaded into the traditional mochila — the leather saddle cover designed to carry mail — and made the long journey west to east. Upon arrival, each letter received a hand cancellation, preserving the authenticity and spirit of the 1860 mail‑delivery experience.
A beloved tradition of the Re‑Ride is the signing of the mochila. Every participating rider adds their signature in front of the crowd, symbolizing their role in keeping this iconic piece of American history alive. Though the original Pony Express operated for only 18 months — from April 1860 to October 1861 — its riders covered more than 600,000 miles of rugged and often dangerous terrain, leaving a lasting legacy of courage, endurance, and innovation in mail delivery.
The GKCPCC and Central Missouri PCC extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us to celebrate this living history and experience firsthand how mail once traveled across the country by horseback. Mail delivery has evolved dramatically since the 1860s, but events like this remind us of the ingenuity and determination that shaped the early postal system.
We’re already looking forward to an even bigger celebration next year as the Re‑Ride kicks off right here in St. Joseph. Expect food trucks, face painters, and even more opportunities to connect with the past while celebrating the future of mail.
